MAKE A PLAN

It may be appealing to go out on a whim and just start driving, but in the end you will wish you had a plan. Random spontaneity might be thrilling at first, but you should have an end destination that is on your bucket list to make it worth it. Besides an ending point, find some cool places to sight see along the way!It is not every day that you go on a road trip, so make it worth it. Map it out! Even though it might not go exactly as planned, a rough estimate of your travels will reassure you and your group that there are goals along the way. That being said, still factor in some extra time. Road trips aren’t about rules or strict guidelines, have a care fair attitude and enjoy the scenery!

MAKE SURE YOUR CAR IS READY FOR A ROAD TRIP

You are looking for trouble if you don’t check up on your car before heading across state lines. Check your oil, engine, tire pressure, etc. If your car is not in tip-top shape, you are going to be on the side of the road with no cell service and angry passengers. No one wants car trouble when they are halfway across the country. Make sure you have a fresh coat of wax to ensure bugs and acid rain won’t wear down your paint! Another great way to prevent damage to your car is through our coating system that prevents rock chips or scratches. And when your road trip is all said and done, you might have a mess on the inside of your car as well. Consider having your car detailed to restore it back to its proper state and remove all of those grimy bugs and road tar!

TAKE A PHYSICAL MAP

This may seem old school, but you never know what can happen. Cell service can be tricky, and in certain areas you may not have service at all. Having a map saves you from losing all hope once your phone stops working.

GOOD PLAYLISTS

This one is very important. Don’t just put a playlist together. Research and debate the perfect playlists because this can make or break your road trip. Everybody in the car needs to come prepared with their own perfect road trip playlist. Because let’s face it, no one wants to listen to the radio for hours on end. There will be numerous times where everybody just needs a good jam out session, so whether it’s Bluetooth, CD’s or an aux cable, be prepared!

PACK SNACKS

No one wants to be in the car with a bunch of cramped hungry people, it never ends well. Don’t just throw a bunch of random snacks from the bottom of your pantry into a plastic bag and call it a day. This requires everybody going to the grocery store together to get prime munchin’ food. Everybody needs their favorite snacks and some sandwich material. Bring a cooler with waters, sodas, and juices to make sure everyone stays hydrated as well. No “hangry” passengers allowed on the best road trip ever.

ALWAYS STOP FOR NATIONAL PARKS

There is a reason certain parks are deemed National Parks. They are spectacular. You ever go to the Grand Canyon? You should. Even if you have to go a little out of the way for National Parks, it is okay. Pictures can only do them so much justice. Once you see them with your own eyes, you appreciate their beauty so much more.

GO LOCAL

Don’t travel for hours in the car only to eat at McDonalds. Find some great local restaurants and try food that is exclusive to the state or area. For example, have a Philly cheese steak in Philly or Chicken Fried Steak in Texas. This is your chance to see what all the hype is about for different food!

LOOK UP GOOD ROAD TRIP GAMES

Lucky for you, there are already a million fun road trip hacks made up for you! Look up some good road trip games to keep everybody in the car entertained while on the move. It helps everybody stay off their phones and focus on each other.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO STOP

When driving long distances, it is a good idea to get out of the car and move your legs from time to time. If you see something that catches your eye, get out of the car and really appreciate where you are for a moment! It will make everyone feel less crammed if you allow for stops. It makes the whole road trip experience more enjoyable, and you might discover something you hadn’t planned!
