The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a given for this list. Especially if you are from or live in Indy, you need to buy a ticket to the next Indy 500. The combination of cars going over 200 mph, possibility of outrageous crashes, and over a hundred years of history makes for an easy decision for a spot on the bucket list.
Bonneville Salt Flats | Tooele, Utah
The Bonneville Salt Flats is famous for being the fastest platform for the fastest cars in the world. A thick packed salty floor covering tens of thousands of acres is home to Speed Week every August. There have been several land speed records broken at this car lover's destination. If you want to get a feel for the Salt Flats and enjoy a good movie at the same time, watch “The World’s Fastest Indian” which is about the motorcycle land speed record being broken on the Salt Flats.
Henry Ford Museum | Dearborn, Michigan
If you love cars, you just might have heard of a guy by the name of Henry Ford. The Henry Ford Museum is just outside of Detroit and has some of the greatest vintage cars to appreciate. This car museum is a great place to look at some historic machinery and learn how Ford industrialized the automotive industry.

We are heading back to Michigan for our final bucket list destination. The North American International Auto Show in Detroit is not your typical auto show. It is one of the biggest in the world! All the car manufacturers come to put on a show every January by revealing all the newest advances in the auto industry. You will be among the biggest car fanatics in the world at this event.
